Some older macOS are unable to make purchases because the security protocols required by payment institutions have raised beyond what the old macOS can handle.
This unfortunately means it becomes more and more difficult to place an order for a game using an older macOS.
Situations that signal an unsupported macOS:
- The Credit Card form does not allow any input typing.
- Clicking the PayPal button does not load up a PayPal window.
- ApplePay (or Google or Amazon) going unresponsive.
How to place an order for an older macOS then?
Well, you won't be able to directly. As much as we try to keep backwards compatibility going, other systems have their own mandates which can cause problems (like Credit Cards, PayPal, etc).
If you have a newer macOS on another mac, you can place an order using that newer mac. Then you can use the MacGameStore.app on your older macOS to install that purchase.
32bit purchases on 64bit side note:
If you see a block about "this is a 32bit only game" on your newer mac ... you can bypass that purchase warning using the "Allow 32bit-only game purchases" setting in your My Account > Settings. This is off by default to prevent accidental 32bit only purchases on 64bit only macs.
